Without mincing her words but with a charmingly disarming honesty, vasil has been rapping her way through the dense German rap underground for a few years now. Tracks such as the laid-back, groovy “Lieber Doktor” – in which the newcomer tackles mental health issues and the pitfalls of the German healthcare system – and “Schwarze Raben Freestyle” underscore in subtle shades that this woman has something to say and knows exactly how to put pressing issues into words. The fact that her tracks rack up hundreds of thousands of streams on relevant platforms isn’t just down to her razor-sharp observations of contemporary life, though. Indeed, vasil’s beats and flow are also on a different level, the dark vibe of which was roughly outlined two years ago on her EP, “Blaue Flecken” (2024). Now, with “Krähen reden nicht” (2026), her long-awaited debut album has been released, showcasing a rap talent from whom we hope to hear much more in the future – be it on curated hip-hop playlists or on stages across the country.
