On her first EP, Yaama unveils an array of musical influences in four tracks and just under 20 minutes. From jazzy piano passages and almost spiritual folk compositions to physical electro beats, the singer-songwriter from Bremerhaven has mastered her repertoire like a pro - even though her career just started. Her debut EP ‘Continuity’, released this year, already demonstrates an outstanding feel for arrangements and melodies, to which Yaama paints her very own interpretation of modern pop music with the creative use of instruments and samples. 
Among the driving breakbeats in ‘Willow’ with its futuristic vocoder experiments and the organically contrasting ‘Nostalgia’, a musical sensibility emanates that celebrates tonal contrasts and uses them as a creative bedrock for unconventional songwriting. Her past, alternating between classical choir rehearsals and smoky pubs in her home town, has shaped her just as much as influences spanning Joni Mitchell and Pink Floyd to Enya and drum 'n' bass. There's no doubt about it: this artist is still a long way from exhausting the potential of her own vision.
