Arts & Word Submission 2026

You want to help shape our Arts programme with your project idea or contribute to the spoken word programme? This year again, you can apply with your creative ideas via our submission form and become part of Reeperbahn Festival 2026.

Within the Arts and Word programme, pop cultural and socially relevant topics are explored in creative ways. Issues such as intersectionality, feminism, social and ecological sustainability, as well as inclusion in all areas of living together, are particularly important to us. We aim to give space to diverse perspectives and offer artists the opportunity to exhibit visual art or present interactive modules and performances. This year, we are especially excited about eye catching outdoor installations that transform the open air area of the Arts Playground into a real highlight. Authors and spoken word protagonists are also very welcome in this submission process. Whether it is a reading, stand up, live podcast or panel talk, we have a stage for all these formats.

Please submit your proposals by 15 April and make sure to check the FAQ. After reviewing all submissions, we will inform you about the status of your application from the end of May onwards.

Formally and conceptually, do not feel restricted by the form. We want to keep the application process as accessible as possible. What matters most is that you describe your idea in a way that allows us to imagine it within the festival context.

Why does your idea work well in the festival context? Why is this project close to your heart?

We are looking forward to your ideas and contributions.

Booking gender balance

We are a partner of the Keychange initiativeEach year, we track the gender of our protagonists in the line-up because we want to determine the balance between FLINTA* and cis-male representation. So please let us know how many cis-men and how many FLINTA* people would be involved in presenting your work if this is already foreseeable.
