Funding op­por­tu­ni­ties for HEAVY bands

How does a heavy band finance its first tour, its first international shows, the next album, or a video and the marketing around it? This panel gives an overview of funding options specifically for heavy music and looks at them from three angles.

Nick Josten (PR and Social Media, Wacken Foundation) presents what the Wacken Foundation funds and what matters in an application. Ulla Heinrich brings in the jury perspective from Initiative Musik's artist funding programme: how decisions are made and what makes an application strong. And Azaria Nasiri, singer of Seven Blood, reports from practice: what a grant actually feels like for a band and what it delivered, how she got there, which obstacles were on the way, and which doors it opened.
