Sharaktah, whose real name is Christopher Mede, is a German rapper, singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Schleswig-Holstein. Growing up in the small village of Ketelsbüttel, he discovered his passion for music at an early age. His grandfather taught him how to play guitar, while artists such as Linkin Park, Billy Talent, and later Post Malone shaped his musical journey. Today, Sharaktah lives and works in Hamburg. Sharaktah developed his own sound far beyond traditional genre boundaries. His music combines rap with rock, grunge, pop, and trap, driven by guitars, modern beats, melodic vocals, and his distinctive, raspy voice. Lyrically, he explores personal experiences, relationships, self-doubt, emotional struggles, and the search for identity. Above all, his music is honest, direct, and deeply personal. In 2020, Sharaktah began officially releasing his music. His debut album, “Almost Home,” released in 2021, brought him wider attention beyond Germany’s regional music scene. The album’s title also reflects an important stage in his personal and artistic development: the search for a place where he could feel truly at home, both musically and personally. A major milestone in his career has been his collaborations with Clueso. In 2021, Sharaktah appeared on Clueso’s album “ALBUM” with their joint track “Aus dem Weg.” The collaboration marked an important step in his development and introduced his genre-crossing sound to an even wider audience. In 2023, the two artists reunited for another collaboration, “Wie stellst du dir die Welt vor,” which was released on Sharaktah’s album “Blumen wachsen durch Beton.” With “Blumen wachsen durch Beton” in 2023, Sharaktah continued to develop his sound and artistic identity. The album combines emotional and deeply personal lyrics with elements of rock, pop, and rap, showcasing an artist who consciously refuses to be confined by musical labels. In addition to Clueso, he collaborated with artists including Edo Saiya. Another important step in his career came with his partnership with Epic Records Germany / Sony Music. Sharaktah is signed to Epic Records, giving him the support of a major label as he continues to expand his musical career and bring his artistic vision to an even wider audience. After an extended musical break, Sharaktah returned with new music in 2026. With tracks such as “VIELLEICHT,” “HERZ AUS PLASTIK,” “So egal,” and “WACH,” he has opened a new chapter in his career. His latest releases continue to explore the personal and emotional themes that have defined his earlier work, while presenting a more mature and reflective perspective. Sharaktah stands for authenticity, vulnerability, and musical freedom. He blends rap with rock, grunge, and pop without allowing himself to be restricted by fixed genre boundaries. His lyrics explore personal highs and lows and resonate particularly with people who see themselves as different, unconventional, or still searching for their own path. With his music, Sharaktah wants to do more than simply tell stories — he wants to create a feeling: You don’t have to fit into a box to find your own place.
