As a child, Roger Sellers dreamt of being Phil Collins. The Genesis drummer with his lushly mixed sound was an icon to the six-year-old boy—and you can still hear it in Sellers' beats today. As Bayonne, he released a tribute to the euphoria of being alive with his debut Primitives, an album full of ambient pop songs with heart and soul.

This year's Drastic Measuresshows Sellers cultivating his own style further. The multi-instrumentalist fuses tender piano lines, ethereal vocals, and sophisticated rhythms into emotional and original productions. It's no surprise he doesn't like being referred to as a DJ: This is not so much music that makes you dance as it's music for diving into and dreaming.
