Bruckner

Music Singer-Songwriter, Pop Regensburg, Germany

Not enough rockets for all the astronauts, no time for all those lofty ambitions, and no need for obsessive individualism: Bruckner's song "Zehenspitzen" from their EP Sprungturm showed how easy it can be to shrug off today's frantic pursuit of change. The Bavarian duo expresses euphoric imagery with the sort of understatement only skilled musicians can afford.

Their instrumentation is down to the basics, but their feel for melody and rhythm ensures that each song breaks the mold. Jakob and Matti Bruckner marry introspection with lightness, always remaining real, easy-going, and accessible. The only way to get even closer to the two is to see them live—for example in September at the Reeperbahn Festival.
