Music Pop, R'n'B/Soul France

Presented by: ZEIT Hamburg

To attend this Elbphilharmonie concert, reservations must be made in advance.

One of the most exciting electro soul acts is coming all the way from France to the festival. Her is both danceable and polemical but they are also extremely confident in their style. The smash hit “Five Minutes” combines smooth retro electro, that reminds of Daft Punk, with grooves familiar from US acts like Jungle and a fierce, self-empowering attitude and dandy elegance. The project founded in 2015 by singer/guitar player Simon Carpentier and keyboarder Victor Solf is clearly committed to feminism.

Both musicians already got to know each other at school in Rennes. As 16 year olds they made their first compositions. In 2007 they founded their first band The Popopopops. Today, Her have tragically minimized into a solo project. Simon Carpentier died from a weakening cancer disease at the age of 27 in 2017. But Victor Solf wants to keep on doing music. For the audience, for his colleague and for his love to music. The debut album is intended to be more than a legacy, it is also a new beginning.
