One True Pairing

Music / Indie / London, United Kingdom

As one of two vocalists in the British art pop band Wild Beasts, Tom Fleming has climbed to the heights of indie fame over the past decade, and not only in Britain. His timbre resides somewhere between Rick Astley and Dave Gahan, something that has undoubtedly played a role in his success.

His first solo releases as One True Pairing showcase his voice in new and exciting ways, sounding catchier, more concentrated, and stripped-down than his previous work. It's no one-eighty from the sound of Wild Beasts, but it's also far from sounding like an imitation. Fleming finds more pop in indie than most, but always without pandering or sounding stale. A testament to his experience as an artist who knows his inspirations as well as his visions.
