The son of a Japanese mother and a French father, Soran grew up in Montreal, surrounded by the instruments of his music-loving parents. As a four-year-old, he became a little autodidact and studied the world of sound. This soon grew into a passion for drumming, which Soran kept alive through to his high school years. Then he bought a grateful homeless man's acoustic guitar and started playing beautiful Drake, Ed Sheeran, and Post Malone covers. Just like that, after hearing them once.

The results can be admired on YouTube, and millions have taken Soran up on that offer in the past years. All that attention has started netting him contacts and inquiries. His self-titled EP, out in 2018, was produced by Soran himself together with his pal Connor Seidel. With full-bodied beats, wind instruments, and clever sampling, the singer-songwriter proves that for his musical evolution, the sky is the limit.
