There are probably few people who can't identify with the bittersweet indie pop of Stars at some point in their lives. The Montreal band, which includes members of Broken Social Scene, became an indie staple with the warm, melancholy sound of their 2004 classic Set Yourself On Fire.

Instead of resting on their laurels, Stars kept evolving. Five albums later, with There Is No Love in Fluorescent Light, they've arrived at modern synth-pop with big melodies and emotions. While unforeseeable, this evolution to a sound of revelry and reverie makes perfect sense for the band. And one thing is foreseeable: Stars not only deliver stellar performances in the studio, but also on stage.
