Music / Indie, Pop / Korea, South

Presented by: Korea Creative Content Agency

Korean music has endured a niche existence in the West for long enough. Aside from dedicated fans, only a few people in this country actually knew about the pulsating K-pop scene of the greater Seoul area, where styles as diverse as folk, dance, soul, R&B or trap are frequently given a fresh coat of paint. Acts like WeDance have been changing this at a rapid pace for years now. The power duo has released over a dozen EPs and three albums since 2011, fusing indie rock, electropop and neo-psychedelia as skillfully as perhaps only Ball Park Music or MGMT have managed in our latitudes - but even they lack the perky energy with which WeDance deliver their statements. It’s no wonder then that they released easily their best album yet with "Dance Pop" last summer. The name is self-explanatory and is certainly to be taken as an order.
