Netiquette
Through our social media channels and website, we want to offer a forum for debating all subjects related to the festival and music in all its facets. This also includes dialogue both with and within the community.
For us, the festival feeling means not only a joyous and relaxed atmosphere, but also constructive interaction with each other. To ensure this also applies on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube and that everyone feels comfortable, we expect our users to treat each other with respect and free of discrimination. Please therefore adhere to the following rules:
-
Treat other users with respect.
A polite and respectful tone is the underlying basis for exchanging ideas. Be considerate towards each other, just as you would in your favourite pub or at a festival.
-
Remain constructive
It’s quite natural for people to disagree with each other. But unnecessary criticism that lacks an argument is hurtful and not constructive. So make sure you justify critical comments by providing arguments, don’t be provocative, and keep your comments factual and respectful.
-
Insults, discrimination, defamation and slurs of any kind are prohibited.
Insults as well as any content, symbols or links that are malicious, discriminatory, racist, homophobic, sexist, anti-Semitic or otherwise offensive, symbols and links will not be tolerated by us and will be deleted. We take this subject very seriously and block any users who contravene these rules.
-
Do not reveal any personal data
All comments are public and can be seen by everyone. For this reason, it is forbidden to publish any personal data relating to users. This includes details such as address, email address, telephone numbers, etc.
-
Do not use the comments column as an advertising platform.
We would ask you to refrain from posting advertisements. This also includes party-political campaigning.
-
Glorification of violence and incitement to violence have no place here and will not be tolerated.
The dissemination, linking and depiction of content glorifying violence has no place on our channels and will be deleted or, depending on the offence, reported to the relevant network or the police.
-
Pornographic content and obscenity are prohibited.
-
Do not post spam or off-topic content.
Repeated comments will be deleted. Posting a comment once is sufficient. It is not necessary to post identical comments repeatedly. If a comment gets deleted, this is because it does not comply with the rules formulated here. Spam also includes posts that are off-topic.
We use gender-appropriate language on all our channels. The aim of gender-appropriate language is to raise awareness of and address all gender diversity. We therefore use gender-neutral language, including the forms ‘you’, ‘they’ ‘your’ or the name of the individual instead of the male-biased variations. This variation of gender-sensitive language includes not only the binary genders, but also people who do not identify in these categories.
We reserve the right to adapt the Netiquette. Posts that violate the aforementioned rules will be deleted or, if necessary, disabled by us. In the case of repeated violations, we will block users. All users are responsible for their own published contributions, the Reeperbahn Festival does not assume any liability.
We hope you enjoy communicating,
Your Reeperbahn Festival Team
