The Reeperbahn Festival 2021 is being planned with all due care and in close coordination with the relevant authorities in a 3G edition. In accordance with the current regulations in Hamburg, this means that access to the festival can only be granted to those people who are either fully vaccinated, tested or recovered.
The safety of visitors, partners, performing artists and staff, as well as the applicable distance and hygiene regulations, are our top priority at all times.
What does 3G mean?
3G means that access to the festival can only be granted to those people who are either fully vaccinated, tested or recovered. There are also required restrictions such as distance rules, masking requirements (Medical masks, such as op mask, FFP2 mask, Livingguard® mask), square meter or number of people restrictions, which will be individually adapted to the different venues.
Please allow sufficient time, as the measures we have to take in the course of infection control may cause delays in the process and associated waiting times. We will inform you about current waiting times via the festival app.
Vaccinated, recovered, tested, what does that mean?
Persons are considered vaccinated if they have been vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine approved in the EU and if at least 14 days have passed since the last vaccine dose was administered. A current list of EU-approved COVID-19 vaccines as well as information on the required number of vaccine doses can be found on the PEI website: https://www.pei.de/impfstoffe/covid-19. Proof of complete vaccination includes vaccination certificates from CovPass, the Corona-Warn-App, and vaccination records in paper form. Also, please be sure to bring your ID card for verification.
Persons are considered recovered if they have had a confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection that occurred less than 6 months ago. Proof of a confirmed infection must be provided by direct pathogen detection (PCR) at the time of infection and must be certified by a physician. Please also bring your identity card for verification.
Proof of testing is a negative PCR test, not older than 48 hours or a negative rapid antigen test from an official testing station, no older than 24 hours (self-testing is not accepted). Therefore, it is necessary to be tested on the respective festival day in the morning (rapid antigen test or PCR test). Please note that the test must be valid until the end of the events on the respective festival day. A new daily test is required for each day of the festival. Please also bring your identity card for verification.
Where can I get tested?
Official testing stations for rapid antigen tests around the Reeperbahn can be found on the interactive map of the city of Hamburg:
Official overview from the city of Hamburg: https://www.hamburg.de/corona-schnelltest/
>> Schnelltest Service Hamburg --> https://schnelltest-hamburg.de/schnelltest-buchen/ X
>> ct test --> https://www.coronatest-stpauli.de/book-online X
Please observe the applicable conditions of the test centers for testing (identification papers, no consumption of drinks beforehand, etc.).
Why don’t you implement the festival according to 2G?
After extensive deliberations and votes since the announcement of the current regulation of the City of Hamburg from 28.08.2021, according to which can be optionally organized in 2G or 3G, we have decided after careful consideration for various reasons for the implementation in 3G.
Within the few remaining weeks until the Reeperbahn Festival 2021, it is not possible for us to consistently apply the 2G regulation and to implement a stringent 2G event for our visitors due to our complex event concept and the very different venues, program formats and participants.
What’s the procedure if someone tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) while at the Reeperbahn Festival?
If somebody at the Reeperbahn Festival tests positive for COVID-19, the local health authority – with whom we are in direct contact – decides what action is required.
#1 In an auditorium
If somebody who has attended the Reeperbahn Festival 2021 as a visitor receives a positive COVID-19 test directly after the event, the Hamburg-Mitte Health Authority will ask on which days, at which times and in which venues the person was present, so that all other persons can be contacted by the Federal Ministry for Health via the data stored in the app or manually at the 3G counter. Reeperbahn Festival does not contact you.
#2 In the stage area
If anyone who attended the stage area of a venue at the Reeperbahn Festival 2021 tests positive, all other persons who were in direct contact with the person testing positive for COVID-19 in the stage area of the respective venue will be informed, tested (artists, stage technicians, venue staff) and, if deemed necessary by the Federal Ministry for Health, ordered to quarantine.
WHAT LIVE EVENTS ARE HAPPENING AT THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL?
We are planning the Reeperbahn Festival 2021 with all due care and in close coordination with the responsible authorities. At any time, the safety of visitors, partners, performing artists and employees, as well as the then applicable distance and hygiene regulations are our top priority.
We will keep you informed about current developments via our channels.
WHAT DO I NEED TO GET INTO THE VENUES?
#1 Check In / Check Out via QR Code at the Venues
→ For the tracking of contacts in case of infection as well as the overview of the capacities in the venues, log in via QR code when entering the venues and log out when leaving. Please download the PartyMate app in advance and enter your contact details before you arrive at the 3G counter. This will save you time on site and you can start right away. You only have to enter your data once, and then scan a QR code before each venue, or log out again when leaving.
#2 Festival Wristband
→ The wristband is your ticket to all venues.
#3 3G wristband
→ For admission you will also need the 3G wristband described above, which you will get after checking at the 3G counter. Please note that vaccinated and recovered persons will receive the wristband for all days, while tested persons have to pick up a new wristband at the 3G counter every day.

WHAT MEASURES ARE TAKEN TOWARDS INFECTION CONTROL ON SITE?
#1 Distance regulations
What distance regulations apply at the Reeperbahn Festival?
→ If possible, try to keep a sufficient distance (1.50m).
→ Be in a group of max. 10 people on the road.
→ Take into account the markings and follow the instructions of the staff in the venues, especially regarding the seating and standing areas.
#2 Mask obligation
Is there still a mask obligation /obligation to wear medical mouth-nose protection?
→ Currently, there is a mask requirement (medical mouth-nose protection; surgical masks or FFP2 masks) inside all venues. Indoors, the mask must be worn at all times unless a beverage is consumed. Outdoors, the mask may be removed at marked seating and standing areas.
I have a medical certificate, do I still have to wear a mask?
→ The mask requirement must always be observed.
#3 Stay cool, sit and stand.
→ How you can sit and stand in the venues is regulated individually and ranges from seated in a checkerboard to standing in groups of 10. These groups are independent of households. We cannot seat you individually or in smaller groups due to capacity.
→ Admission for all locations starts 45 minutes before show time. As soon as people leave a fully booked concert, late entry is possible to the same extent.
→ The utilization of the locations ranges from 30-60% due to the applicable 3G rules.
#4 Stage situation
→ A minimum distance of 2.5 m must be maintained between the artists* on stage and the audience at all times.
Which venues are seated and which are not?
→ We strive to create a balance between seated and standing venues. We will announce which venues will be seated and how in a timely manner.
→ Please note: Seating is mandatory in seated venues.
#6 Controlled admission + routing
→ Admission for all locations will start 45 minutes before showtime. Please factor this into your evening planning due to limited capacity per venue. As soon as people leave the fully booked concert, late admission is possible to the same extent.
→ Admission at venues will be in gated lines where spacing rules and mask requirements apply. Wherever possible, we have established a one-way path. In addition, there will be separate waiting areas in front of venues where you can wait to be admitted to the respective venue while maintaining the minimum distance. You will then be met at the entrance to the venue and escorted to your seat.
→ Due to the more complicated admission situation and the disinfection and ventilation times that have to be observed, we will not be able to implement as many program points per venue as usual. Nevertheless, you can expect to experience approximately two to three program points per evening.
→ Where possible, we are also planning our own routing in public spaces. However, we cannot guarantee that there will be no contact with passers-by on the street. Should you be heavily intoxicated or show obvious symptoms of illness, we reserve the right to refuse admission. Individuals who do not comply may be ejected from the venue at any time.
#7 Bags + wardrobe
→ You can carry bags and backpacks up to a size of 210 x 297 mm (equivalent to DIN A4). As in previous years, there will be a central bag checkroom in the Festival Village on the Heiligengeistfeld. There you can drop off bags for a fee of 2-3 € / day. For logistical reasons there will be no checkroom in the venues, so if possible no or small luggage is advantageous.

You can get help with all questions about the Reeperbahn Festival at the Info Desks in the Festival Village on the Heiligengeistfeld and on the Spielbudenplatz. In addition, we recommend you to install our mobile app (for iOS and Android). With push messages we will keep you up to date about the capacity of upcoming programs and service topics. In addition, we will keep you informed via our social media channels Facebook, Instagram and Twitter under the hashtag #rbf21.
Opening hours Info Desk Festival Village
Opening hours Info Desk Spielbudenplatz
What takes place when?
On our website you will find a list view of the program points in chronological order in the schedule, with the possibility to apply different filters. In the mobile app (for iOS and Android) you can create your personal schedule.
Where are the locations and how do I get there?
With the help of our mobile app and the map on the website, you will be guided through the jungle of clubs, theaters, cinemas and other playgrounds! The venues open about 45 minutes before the program starts. Be there as early as possible, so that you can switch to another program point, should there be an admission stop due to the capacity limit reached. In order to keep the waiting times as short as possible, there is also a regulation for taking bags (see above).
HOW IS IT ENSURED THAT I AM INFORMED IN THE EVENT OF AN INFECTION? ARE MY MOVEMENT PATTERNS OR DATA STORED?
Visitor data such as first name, surname, e-mail address, telephone number will be collected in consultation with the authorities and in compliance with data protection laws when tickets are exchanged in one of the PartyMate apps. Please download the app in advance and enter your data there. In order to be able to inform in case of infection, the process is always the same: 1. visitors* scan a QR code with their smartphone; 2. they are shown a digital form, which they fill out with their personal data; 3. our staff checks whether the data has been registered. 4. at each venue visited, a QR code must now be scanned with this app. When leaving the venue, one must log out again. This will link the location and time to the visitor in case of infection tracking. For visitors without a smartphone with QR code recognition, the data is recorded once when tickets are exchanged in paper form and a personalized QR code is handed out, which is scanned at the venues.
MAY I CONSUME DRINKS IN THE VENUES?
The serving of beverages, including alcohol, is permitted at all venues with fixed seating. However, the drinks may not be consumed in the room while moving around. With regard to further developments on the serving of alcohol, we are of course in contact with the relevant authorities.
WILL ALL THE USUAL VENUES HOST SHOWS AT THIS YEAR'S FESTIVAL?
This year, about 35 concert venues are part of the Reeperbahn Festival, in addition to other locations from the Arts / Film / Word as well as the Festival Village.
HOW MANY OUTDOOR STAGES WILL BE PLAYED?
We are planning to play a total of six open-air stages. The permitted open-air capacities vary between 90 visitors in the Molotow Backyard and 1,000 visitors in front of the ARTE Concert Stage on the Heiligengeistfeld.
WILL THERE BE REDUCED CAPACITY AT EACH VENUE?
Yes, this year's 3G implementation of the festival still requires the reduction of capacity. Longer breaks between concerts are to be expected. We are currently planning on an average of two to three concerts per venue.
IS IT LIKELY THAT THERE WILL BE MANY ADMISSION STOPS DUE TO LOWER CAPACITY?
Generally, waiting times and delays at the venues can be expected. Therefore, we recommend installing the Reeperbahn Festival mobile app. We will inform you about the capacity of upcoming programmes and service topics via push messages.
WILL THERE STILL BE PRIORITIZED ADMISSION FOR INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS AT THE VENUES?
Yes, there will be prioritized admission for trade visitors again this year.
IS THE RISK OF INFECTION ELIMINATED AT ALL VENUES AND AREAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FESTIVAL?
Despite comprehensive precautionary and hygienic measures on site, we can of course not exclude the risk of infection that currently exists everywhere due to the pandemic. For our pandemic-compatible execution, we have created a concept with which we hope to achieve the best possible health safety for you. However, due to the pending research and lack of experience with large events in times of COVID-19, we cannot make any guarantees. Participation in the festival is voluntary and at your own risk.
WHAT RULES APPLY TO MINORS AT THE FESTIVAL?
Legal regulations for the protection of minors apply at our event. We would like to explicitly note that the admission to events is not within our control. It is possible that minors are denied entry to a club on the Reeperbahn, especially at late hours. Please take this into consideration when purchasing a ticket. Student IDs, written permission from a parent or guardian or the like are generally not accepted.
- 5 Tanzveranstaltungen Jugendschutzgesetz [Dance Events Youth Protection Act]
Children and adolescents under the age of 16 are not permitted to attend public dance events without the accompaniment of a custodian or guardian, and adolescents over the age of 16 are permitted to attend until 12:00 am at the latest.
Minors who are permitted to visit the events of the Reeperbahn Festival according to the Youth Protection Act must also be protected by the 3G regulation. Minors with full vaccination protection must show proof in digital or paper form. Please note that we cannot grant children under 12 years of age access to the festival who have not yet been vaccinated in Germany, even if accompanied by a parent or guardian, unless they can show a current-day certified rapid test.
ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE FOR 2021?
Due to the implementation in 3G, we are working with limited capacities in the venues. You can see which ticket categories are still available in our ticket store.
Under the existing conditions of the 3G model, it will again be possible for trade visitors to attend the conference on site this year. For this purpose we offer the Conference Ticket in our ticket store. This includes access to all programs of the Reeperbahn Festival and the conference, free access to the paid digital conference platform and free use of public transport (HVV).
The conference will also be available to experience digitally again. Tickets for our conference digital platform can be purchased in our ticket store (subject to availability). The ticket for the Digital Conference Platform does not entitle the holder to attend the program items on site.
DO I NEED A NEW WRISTBAND FOR EVERY DAY OF THE FESTIVAL?
If you have purchased a multi-day ticket, you will receive a wristband for your festival days. However, a daily additional 3G band is required for checking daily test status. This applies to both PCR testing and rapid antigen testing.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE IF I HAVE TRANSFERRED MY TICKET FROM 2020 TO 2021?
If the ticket for the Reeperbahn Festival 2020 has been transferred to 2021, the old festival tickets and, if applicable, Elbphilharmonie vouchers are invalid and new tickets (as far as there is entitlement incl. respective slot in the Elbphilharmonie) will be sent to you by 17.08.2020. You can exchange your ticket for a wristband from the first day of the festival. (More detailed information about the exchange of tickets into wristbands will be announced via our channels shortly before the festival). .

FESTIVAL TICKETS: HOW IS MY DATA RECORDED SO THAT I CAN BE INFORMED IN THE EVENT OF AN INFECTION?
Visitor data such as first name, last name, e-mail address, telephone number, and date and time per venue visited are recorded so that information can be provided in the event of an infection. The query is made via a digital form that can be accessed on site with a smartphone using a QR code. People who do not have a smartphone will receive a personalized QR code when exchanging tickets, which they must scan at the individual venues.
FESTIVAL TICKETS: SHOULD I EXPECT LONGER WAITING TIMES AT THE TICKET DESK?

HAVE ANY ARTISTS WITHDRAWN FROM THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL?
