The voice of London singer Ella Eyre (photo) is already well-known from her collaborations with Bastille, Tinie Tempah, and Rudimental – her vocals, of course, are featured on Rudimental’s “Waiting All Night”. After the release of her debut album, “Feline”, the ranks of those who see in her nothing less than the future of UK soul music and predict for her a career on a level with Rihanna and Adele just keep growing and growing.
Behind the name Hypnotic Brass Ensemble stand seven brothers with one passion: brass music. In pop history Hypnotic Brass Ensemble are an exception. Today they are the most important marching band of the latest time. Their massive sound combines jazz, hip-hop and afro beat like no-one else does. Hypnotic Brass Ensemble can fill any stage of any scale with mighty powerful brass arrangements and pure funk.
MY BABY is a trio from Amsterdam. Rootsy delta blues meets psychedelic as well as dub and funk elements. Concerts of the trio carry something of a voodoo mess along. Three albums by the Dutch-New Zealander combo have been released so far. After "Loves Voodoo!" came "Shamanaid“, and this year MY BABY brought "Prehistoric Rhythms“, their third opus. Specially for it the band created their new stage pageant. So the voodoo magic goes on!
Kalipo is the new catch of the Audiolith label. On his solo project, the member of the successful electro punk band Frittenbude mixes downbeat and trancy rhythms. He even interlaces bits of gamelan into it. His melodies seem to float freely in the atmosphere, which could be the result of Kalipo’s use of analogue synthies, drum machines and samplers.
These guys frpm Essex do everything right with their voluminous indie rock: Nothing But Thieves. Their song „Ban All The Music“ revealed itself as the ideal festival smash hit. This year the second album „Broken Machine“ is going to be launched. A first pre-taste is the song "Amsterdam“. The fast-paced track has a definite hit potential!
Joseph J. Jones captivates with this irresistible mix of ‘the tough guy’ on the outside and empathy on the inside. He uses his deep, raspy Northern soul voice in sensitive, melancholic ballads. He has just released “Gospel Truth”, which really is an unabashed earworm. This one will push this insider tip even more into the spotlight. It appears to be just a question of time that Jones can be admired only in the great venues.
Moreover, Greta Van Fleet will join Reeperbahn Festival 2017 with classical retro sound. They developed their sound in their parents’ garage and are already flexing their muscles in their songs.
