Doors Open: Smooth Festival Opening with Feist, Angus Stone and Peaches
For Ray Cokes to suspend his legendary Ray’s Reeperbahn Revue on Wednesday in order to open Reeperbahn Festival 2019 alongside Charlotte Roche, then DOORS OPEN must be a very special event. So we won’t bother with a dramatic pause or grand statements, we’ll just let the sensation speak for itself:
Leslie Feist will perform live at DOORS OPEN, our Reeperbahn Festival opening night on 18 September at 6 pm in the Theater Stage Operettenhaus! Alongside no less than singer-songwriter Angus Stone, who will smoothly tune us up for four festival days with the sweet, smoky garage psychedelia of his eagerly awaited solo project Dope Lemon. Sounds good so far and only gets better. Also presenting at DOORS OPEN: Female empowerment icons Peaches and Kate Nash, legendary producers Bob Rock and Tony Visconti, Beatsteaks singer Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß and Australian TV and radio presenter Zan Rowe. Together they are the ANCHOR - Reeperbahn Festival International Music Award jury and will join us in scrutinising the six nominees of the competition for new talent. That’s not enough? Fine. How about soul legend Joy Denalane, Keychange ambassador of the Europe-wide campaign for gender equality in music popping in?
So let’s take a deep breath and take them in one after the other. This is your festival plan for Wednesday evening:
- 5:00 pm: Reception
- 6:00 pm: DOORS OPEN Show incl. Feist + Dope Lemon
- 9:15 pm: DOORS OPEN Concert (Dope Lemon)
- 11:15 pm: DOORS OPEN Concert (Feist)
We’ll start filling up the fridge with drinks. Did we say how much we are looking forward to you and the party? The DOORS OPEN opening event (DOORS OPEN show and the two DOORS OPEN concerts) is open to all with Reeperbahn Festival wristbands valid on Wednesday.
DOORS OPEN Show will be streamed live by ARTE Concert.
