Elbphilharmonie as Venue

Two years ago, St. Michael’s Church, Hamburg’s famous landmark, was added as a Reeperbahn Festival concert location – and now another sensational venue is joining the ranks: the Elbphilharmonie (Elbe Philharmonic Hall), Hamburg’s spectacular new concert hall, is to make its debut in 2017. The following three artists will perform on festival Saturday in the Elbphilharmonie’s Grand Hall:

Saturday, 23 September 2017
► 18.00-18.50: Daniel Brandt & Eternal Something
► 20.50-22.00: Owen Pallett & s t a r g a z e
► 00.00-1:10: Dillon

The Reeperbahn Festival’s partner country this year is Canada, and as part of this partnership Canadian composer, violinist, vocalist, and arranger Owen Pallett and the s t a r g a z e orchestra will perform at the Elbphilharmonie. Pallett, who made a name for himself with his “Final Fantasy” project and his involvement in a number of bands, including Arcade Fire, will present his elegant, classical-leaning solo works – which, complete with string section, orchestral, baroque sound, and Pallett’s soft voice, are a perfect fit for the Elbphilharmonie’s Grand Hall.

Multi-instrumentalist Daniel Brandt is a brilliant producer and remixer with a keen sense for unusual sonic structures. The Berlin-based electronic musician is bringing his new project Daniel Brandt & Eternal Something to the festival this September.

It’s been a while, but now she’s back in Germany for a concert – and at Hamburg’s new Elbphilharmonie concert hall no less: the Brazilian-born, Berlin-based Dillon. For her performance she’ll give an exclusive preview of songs from her upcoming pop album, due out in 2018.
