First bands and artists confirmed
“Amore” at first sight. The first bands and artists are confirmed for Reeperbahn Festival: Wanda, Sóley, Trümmer, Rag'n'Bone Man and many more.
“Amore” at first sight: with “Bologna”, Vienna-based band Wanda landed a hit that fans well beyond the borders of Austria are already singing along to – and in September Wanda will finally have the world of the Reeperbahn at their feet!
But Austria is certainly not alone in being a longstanding source of exceptional talent. Just look at Iceland, where Sóley is coming out with her second album, “Ask the Deep”, in May, and once again blending fantastic indie pop with rapt melancholy.
Singer-songwriter Dotan also does melancholy: in his native Netherlands he’s a superstar, and his hit “Home” has also become a real radio favourite in Germany.
As for Echo Award-nominated Hamburg-based indie-rock sensation Trümmer – nobody’s asking “Wo ist die Euphorie?” (where’s the euphoria?) anymore: just listen to the band’s debut album!
Rag ‘N’ Bone Man from Brighton has been causing a similar sort of stir in his native England. With his rasping blues voice he combines the best elements of soul, rap, and pop – we’re convinced he’s going to be a worldwide sensation.
And sensations, by the way, don’t have to be loud – allow us to introduce “Aus Finnland” (From Finland): Nordic Music Prize winner Mirel Wagner! Born in Ethiopia, raised in Finland, signed by well-known American label Sub Pop, Wagner captivates her listeners, drawing them into her eerily dark songs with nothing save her voice and an acoustic guitar.
Also confirmed for Reeperbahn Festival 2015: Ambassadeurs, Weval (Live), Vök, Adam Angst, Tom Liwa & Flowerpornoes, Tropics, Gabriel Rios, Nessi, Oso Leone, Young Kato, Bombay, Cristobal and the sea, Eva & Manu, Zentralheizung of death des todes, Human Abfall, Abramowicz, K-X-P, Isolation Berlin, Milliarden, Martin Kohlstedt, Robb, Loifoir
