Pop Around The Clock |25 New Acts
Summer is coming and with it 25 new acts for Reeperbahn Festival 2018!
Among them even a Grammy winner, the songwriter Jess Glynne, who in spite of her young age can already look back at six No. 1 hits – and with only one album published at that. Her songs go straight to the hearts of millions of listeners, as demonstrated by her current single “I’ll Be There”.
Her amazing soul voice as well as her neon yellow hair are the hallmarks of ALMA, whose modern and highly danceable pop is attracting more and more attention worldwide, not only thanks to hits like “Chasing Highs” or “Bonfire” (featuring Felix Jaehn).
The trio Mammal Hands merges jazz, folk and electronic music to create an exciting new sound, making them welcome guests on international stages.
The singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs is a true world citizen and at home in many cultures. Her raspy soul voice and her instinct for powerful, catchy pop songs such as “River” have promptly gained the attention of Coldplay who spontaneously decided to take her along on their tour as supporting artist.
With the soul pop of his single hit “Run To You” and as an actor in the British BBC series “The A Word”, Tom Gregory has shown that men can also be multi-tasking; on top of that, he convinces with his strong voice.
Casting of pseudonyms is a sign of artistic conviction: First known as J Moon, the Berliner-by-choice Jessica Einaudi has found her true self with her sombre-spherical soundscapes and her enchanting voice, so that she no longer needs to withheld her father’s name, the famous composer Ludovico Einaudi.
One of Germany’s busiest music creators is also from Berlin. He is the owner of the renowned label ‘Staatsakt’ as well as being a musician, a music publisher and an author: With his band Maurice & Die Familie Summen, Maurice Summen will introduce an all-star band to the Reeperbahn Festival, composed of members from Bonaparte, Seeed, Frittenbude and Die Türen, a band taking a musical stand against all political and private rigours of our times with compelling pop hooklines.
