Canberk Köktürk (*1990) was born in the Ruhr area as the child of Turkish migrant workers. He studied German and philosophy at the University of Duisburg-Essen – a degree that he dropped out of for family reasons. He later completed a bachelor’s degree in political science at the same university. His master’s degree in political management had to make way for his work as an author for Jan Böhmermann’s ‘ZDF Magazin Royale’ (‘ZDF Magazine Royale’). During his studies, he wrote for ‘taz’ and ‘ZEIT Online’, among others. Since 2021, he has also been working on TV and internet formats, such as ‘Lass dich überwachen’ (‘Let Yourself Be Monitored’) and ‘sympathisch’ (‘Kind’). Köktürk is additionally involved in various series and films.
