RememberDr Kai Welp has been head of GEMA's legal department since 2024. In this role he is particularly responsible for the AI lawsuits filed against Open AI and Suno. Prior to this he worked as a department head in the legal department. Before joining GEMA he worked for a national radio station the German Research Network (Deutsches Forschungsnetz e.V.) and as a research assistant at the Institute for Information, Telecommunications and Media Law in Münster.
