Hansjörg Schmidt

Hansjörg Schmidt (born 1974) is the founder and CEO of a software company and has represented the Hamburg-Mitte constituency as a directly elected member of the Hamburg Parliament (Bürgerschaft) since 2011. As the SPD parliamentary group's spokesperson for economic policy, digital economy, media, and net politics, he actively champions the strengthening and development of Hamburg as a leading media and digital hub. Previously, he served in the Hamburg-Mitte district assembly from 1997 to 2011, ultimately leading its SPD faction. He has also been a member of the NDR Broadcasting Council since 2017 and district chairman of the SPD Hamburg-Mitte since 2020.
