James Minor is the former Vice President of the SXSW Music Festival, where he provided strategic leadership for one of the world’s most influential music gatherings. Over more than a decade, he helped shape the festival’s vision, partnerships, and international reach, while contributing significantly to its multi-venue showcase. With 25+ years in artist management, touring, and venue work in Austin and New York, he has consistently championed emerging artists and built lasting networks. Minor began his career guiding the early rise of Voxtrot, the acclaimed indie pop band he now manages again as they prepare to release a new full-length LP. A frequent speaker at industry events across Europe, Asia, and North America, he brings a practitioner’s eye to how artists, scenes, and the cities that sustain them resonate across borders. Currently exploring new professional opportunities, Minor remains dedicated to building sustainable frameworks for artist development and cultural exchange.
