Matthew St Pierre
Matthew St. Pierre is a music-industry builder, artist developer, and startup founder from Northern Ontario, Canada currently living in Toronto and the Founder and CEO of Lisnin Music Inc. (Lisnin.io) Across nearly a decade in independent music he has moved from managing and marketing artists, to building grassroots fan communities, to bringing to life the software he believes independent artists actually need; his consistent thesis is that the talent has never been the bottleneck, but that infrastructure and education are.
St. Pierre learned the business hands-on rather than in a boardroom: early in his career running a recording studio and label, co-writing and co-producing records, directing music videos, and developing artists across North America. He holds marketing, artist-development, or songwriting credits with independent acts including J-Minu$, Andy Polk, Ricky James, and Moula 1st, work that has contributed to over a hundred million streams. That operator's education is the foundation of everything he now builds.
In 2021 he founded Sol Music Ltd, an early web3 launchpad for independent artists, and the Lonely Listeners Club, the fan community that powered it. Through Sol Music he ran artist campaigns end to end, pairing creative direction with community-led fundraising: J-Minu$'s debut project "maybe we got it all wrong" grossed roughly $45,000 and helped grow the artist from about 3,000 to 35,000+ monthly Spotify listeners during the launch, while Andy Polk's "Phantom" campaign grossed roughly $53,000. The Lonely Listeners Club has since grown to more than 80,000 people across social platforms, with an inner community of roughly 4,000 members, and has helped independent artists raise over $200,000 directly through community-led crowdfunding.
Lisnin grew directly out of that work. An early build earned recognition as an honourable mention among the top 10 projects at the 2023 Solana Grizzlython, the largest Solana hackathon to date with more than 10,000 registrants, and it has since evolved into an all-in-one career platform for independent artists: distribution to more than 150 digital stores at 0% commission, publishing administration across US and Canadian PROs, the Earkitz website builder, a directory of more than 4,000 vetted industry contacts that artists can submit to for promotional opportunity, a Discord-native listening-party bot that connects artists with new communities of listeners, and a forthcoming Music Rights & Experiences Marketplace where artists can license their music and/or sell access to experiences. The platform targets a launch in late 2026. Lisnin was recently accepted into Creative Destruction Lab's Montreal Web3 stream, the 11-month program run at HEC Montréal & has completed the Innovation Factory's Concept Catalyst program for startups.
Alongside Lisnin, St. Pierre leads business development at Wracket Music, the Toronto music-supervision company founded by Everton Lewis Jr., the former head music supervisor at VICE Canada, whose sync work spans Tim Cook's Apple product keynotes, Eli Roth's "Thanksgiving," Amazon Prime Video, and MTV. Lewis is St. Pierre's longtime mentor, business partner, and a co-founder of Lisnin; their partnership connects St. Pierre's community-and-product instincts to a professional sync operation that manages several million dollars in annual placement budgets.
