Born on the island of Rügen in 1985, René has been living in Hamburg since 2005.
Holding a degree in Public Administration, he works as HR Team Lead for the Hamburg Fire Department. Following his term in the Hamburg-Nord District Assembly (2008–2014), he was elected to the Hamburg State Parliament in 2015.
After previously serving as spokesperson for culture, science, and public enterprises, he has been the Green's parliamentary group's Spokesperson for Culture and Media since 2025.
