Robert Westphal

Robert Westphal bridges worlds that often seem incompatible. He is the co-initiator and program director of the "Contrasts in Symbiosis – CoSy Festival", which is primarily organized by the Love Foundation e.V. Alongside a strong academic foundation – having studied musicology and media studies, and currently pursuing a PhD in theater studies – Robert is also a curator of international cultural events and has been active as a musician and DJ under the name "Robert Romain" since 2008. At the same time, he is familiar with the various behind-the-scenes dynamics of cultural policy: through his experience in public administration and at renowned cultural institutions, he understands administrative funding structures from the inside out. This exact combination is what defines his profile. Robert takes a 360-degree view of the cultural sector – from strategic debates to practical execution at festivals. This makes him a distinct voice when it comes to the current challenges facing independent cultural events.
