
Susan Abramovitch
Susan Abramovitch, one of the world’s leading entertainment lawyers, is a Toronto-based partner at Gowling WLG. As head of the Entertainment & Sports Law Group, her practice covers transactions and disputes in the music, film, television, videogame, branded entertainment, sports, e-sports, live theatre, fine arts, book publishing, AI, multimedia and metaverse/NFT industries. Susan works with a wide range of domestic and international clients to deliver strategic advice on key entertainment and sports law-related matters, such as drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements, advising on deal terms, structures and dispute resolution, counseling on international industry standards and managing rights acquisitions. Heavily involved in the legal community as a teacher and mentor, Susan is the program director for Osgoode Hall Law School's Continuing Legal Education Certificate in Entertainment Law and a frequent lecturer at Osgoode Hall and the faculties of law and music at the University of Toronto. Susan is an honorary/past member of the Board of Governors of The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall. Susan is also an executive committee member of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers and Co- Chair of the IAEL’s annual Legal Update panel at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).
