The indietronica bard from Austin, Texas, has been paying regular tribute to the greats of electronically underpinned DIY music for a decade now, be it with his neo-psychedelic debut, “Primitives” (2016), or with the atmospheric collection of catchy tunes entitled “Temporary Time” (2023). And yet this charming jack-of-all-trades manages time and again to add new ingredients to his own recipe – ingredients that not only fit, but also elevate his music to the next level, navigating between sprawling melodies and dense layers of various instruments. The fact that he writes, records, produces, mixes, and – at times – even releases every song himself almost becomes a footnote.
