Big Ocean
Transforming supposed weaknesses into unexpected strengths and growing from them - that's been Big Ocean's artistic philosophy right from the start of their career. All three band members Lee Chan-yeon, PJ and Kim Ji-seok have varying degrees of hearing loss - making them the first South Korean boy band with auditory impairment. Yet this hasn't stopped the spirited trio from making big waves in South Korea, the USA and Europe. Singles such as “Glow”, ‘Blow’ and “Slow” were partly created using AI, which is trained with vocal data from the band members to help them. Smart watches with a metronome are used to synchronise all three voices. The result is an energetic K-pop sound that instantly makes you want to sing and dance along. The band made their breakthrough in the US and other parts of the world with this year's debut EP ‘Underwater’ (2025). So it's definitely time for them to make their debut here in Hamburg.
