Chiara Savasta

To escape the emotional pitfalls of growing up, Chiara Savasta resorted to music. Just for herself at first, in the cosmos of her bedroom. But the more she pondered her life and the world, the more she realised that she had artistic ambitions. Slowly but surely, she developed into a singer-songwriter, played her first concerts and crafted songs somewhere between indie folk and dreamy pop fantasies for the most beautiful and the most painful moments of youth. The two EPs “Summerhood, Pt. 1” (2022) and “Summerhood, Pt. 2” (2024) skilfully reflect personal twists of fate, but also the life outlook of an entire generation marked by disillusionment and the prospects of an uncertain future. Even if in truth there’s never really been an era when it was easy to find one’s place in the world, Chiara Savasta’s biographically inspired indie pop still carries particular artistic weight in these times of polycrisis and upheaval. Her new EP ‘Brand New Girl, Brand New Machine’ (2025), which she’ll be presenting for the first time in Hamburg this September, is nothing less than a rallying cry for a new beginning.
