During the pandemic, Natia Tchitchinadze unabashedly crafted her own musical style and chased the ingredients through postmodern filter systems several times. Tongue out and cigarette lit, kinky outfits and deadpan timbre at the ready – the Creams recipe is on its way and is ready for further modifications. According to her own statement, this is geared towards ‘dark pop on a highway’, and indeed, a darkly pulsating EP à la ‘Sleep On Me’ (2021) can be described just as well as the somewhat more reduced and hip-hop-heavy follow-up, ‘PIE’ (2023). But beneath and behind everything that Creams has done so far, there are also traces of synthpop and witch house, darkwave and alternative R&B. This also makes the Georgian musician’s almost erotic style shake particularly sweet – and yes, ‘creamy’ in the best sense of the word. The fact that she raked in hundreds of thousands of streams on the relevant platforms last year with the ‘Kordz remix’ of her single ‘Need To Talk’ demonstrates how she is slowly but surely developing from an insider tip to a sought-after festival act. Don’t sleep on her: Make sure you see her here first.
