Although Jamie, Ryan, Dexter, and Nathan have been making music together for over ten years and have practised their interplay as a band at countless concerts during this time, the four thoroughbred musicians only released their highly acclaimed debut album, ‘I Wonder If The World Knows?’, last year. The quartet from Earlestown can see live that the long preparatory work has more than paid off. In the UK, the record rocketed to number three in the charts and earned the band an award as ‘Breakthrough Act Of The Year’. While favourable comparisons with the Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines were being made in the arts pages, British venues were bursting under the pressure of throngs of fans. The K’s have become the hottest guitar export on the island in no time at all. And that’s despite years of mainly playing the domestic market with indie rock anthems à la ‘Sarajevo’ (2017) and ‘Glass Towns’ (2019) – both of which are band classics that also find their place on the group’s debut. Their follow-up, ‘Pretty On The Internet’ (2025), is already preparing to intensify the summer of indie enthusiasts across Europe. The fact that their first gig here in Hamburg could make festival history can hardly be denied, even apart from FOMO hype.
