Lenny Monsou
Lenny Monsou clearly has a soft spot for eclectic combinations of the most diverse stylistic elements as a means of creating something new that amounts to more than the sum of its parts. The epic stadium sound of U2 in their heyday, the artistic freedom of David Bowie, the playful gestures of Harry Styles - all these influences come together in Lenny Monsou's work like pieces of a dazzling jigsaw puzzle. The results are contemporary pop bangers such as ‘Telephone’ (2024) or the ‘Idolizer’ EP, which was rightly hailed by critics and fans alike and not only amassed hundreds of thousands of streams last year, but was also nominated for some of the leading music prizes in the Netherlands, such as the 3FM Awards. His new song material in the form of the singles ‘Sinatra’ and ‘Stronger’ is also mixed by none other than Tim Palmer, awarded-winning producer of U2 and Pearl Jam, among others. Thus, the indicators are signalling major hype and are highlighting the journey of an ambitious artist who already has the verve and virtuosity to play the really big stages very soon. So it's good news that he will be presenting his energetic sound in a more intimate setting in September.
