Like a waking dream under streetlights, moé's sound shifts between personal reflections and a sense of life that has been through everything from the post-Covid era to the urbanisation of thought and the isolation of human biographies. The Hamburg native's tracks are auditory images of these developments and provide a disillusioned portrayal of what an entire generation is experiencing on a daily basis. So, in the middle of the pandemic his debut EP “Zwischen Fallen und Fliegen” (2022) hit a soft spot with many people who recognised their own feelings in his songs. The beats breathe the rainy vibe of Burial, oscillating between cloud rap and cinematic synth arrangements by his in-house producer Soma, creating an immersive atmosphere reminiscent of a modern film noir. The lyrics address existential themes and past loves, the “5 Minuten Euphorie” (2022) as well as the pain of bitter realisations in “Träum nicht” (2024). Moé takes his dark, introspective rap style out into the world as part of the Hamburg collective ‘TOOLOUDFORTHEROOM’ - to bring his vision to life, to connect with others, to give a voice to hope and disillusionment alike. Because the bottom line in these times is: We are alone together.
