Motivated by rage and a desire for change, panicbaby creates music for sensitive souls who need to distance themselves from the world in order to find who they are. The Berlin-based artist blends modern art pop, presented in a cinematic style, with an experimental edge, playfully striking a balance between captivating, hook-filled melodies and unexpected twists. Her debut EP ‘F U Jonathan’ (2026) came out at the start of the year, racking up tens of millions of streams across all platforms in just a few weeks. The exquisite songwriting of a Lana Del Rey meets the oceanic melodies of Lykke Li and an idiosyncratically dreamy soundscape that wants to tell a story. This is the soundtrack to an era of confusion, to the paradoxes of being human, to broken relationships – but also to a resetting of expectations. Songs like ‘Claw Marks’ or ‘Soft Prn’ capture the urgency and absurdity of losing and finding ourselves with remarkable intensity. panicbaby showed at the start of the year that she brings this deeply personal yet extremely accessible vibe to the stage too, first at the Kantine am Berghain then at festivals across Europe. The finale is happening here in September – and any last doubters will realise why this woman is rightly hailed as one of the boldest newcomers on the German music scene.
