Quicche
Seeing the development of his own artistic endeavours as an open process, with no angling for commercial exploitation, has always been the modus operandi for Marc Grünhäuser. Last year, the singer-songwriter and composer unveiled “TAGIOG” (2024), the debut single from his new project Quicche, signalling a new phase in his work. Released on the legendary label R&S Records, home to some of the greatest electronic music reformers of the 90s, from The Future Sound Of London to Aphex Twin and Ken Ishii, the track saw Grünhäuser build on his old strengths. His music is now less inspired by indie rock and much more by technically sophisticated productions from the likes of James Blake and Burial. On this year’s debut album “Frisia” (2025), soft break beats, spherical ambient soundscapes and rapturous vocals conjure up an atmosphere that is both dreamy and futuristic, a perfect fit for our turbulent times. It’s the birth of a new, unconventional sound for the versatile producer, and this year he’s bringing it to us live for the first time.
