Ruby Duff

Ruby Duff stopped off here in Hamburg a few years ago while passing through on her way through the galaxy. Her singles “Moon And Back” (2019) and “Dancing Under Lights” (2020) plus others quickly landed her a host of streaming hits, and she was creating music for unconventional pop connoisseurs that was as eccentric as it was authentic. Feedback from people all over the world was positive enough for her to make her mark and to declare on her debut EP: “I Guess We Belong Here” (2023). And she’s spot on. No idea is too weird, no arrangement too quirky, no melody too offbeat for Ruby not to translate into songs full of feminine lightness and harmonic elegance. The British press is more than impressed by her, unanimously endorsing the creative adventurousness of this self-made singer-songwriter and making entirely justified comparisons with Kate Bush or Lana Del Rey. So the bar for artistic expression has been firmly set, but Ruby Duff’s unmistakable sound has by no means arrived at its final destination. Her EP “Where Do Odd Socks Go?”(2025) from this year clearly shows that this musical journey is only just beginning. Next stop: Hamburg.
