SATARII
Satarii didn’t choose the route of maximum artistic freedom by chance. While studying at the Mannheim Pop Academy, she could have opted to seek the backing of a big-name major with ample studio time and all sorts of PR gimmicks. But rather than being made, she prefers doing everything herself. Her childhood is a big part of the reason for this. As the daughter of an Iranian father and a Romanian mother, she was raised in humble circumstances and learnt to do without, to battle through. The DIY ethos also comes into play here, which she confidently presents on her debut EP ‘Blaues Feuer’ (2022) between boom bap and trap beats. Sometimes it’s dreamy, sometimes eccentric rap with an anime look, laced with cascades of references for the insiders, her fans. As a result, the EP “Cyberpunch” (2023) is also going down a storm on the relevant platforms, while singles such as “Yallah Habibi” (2024) and “Honume” (2025) incorporate her multicultural influences from dabruka and baile funk to Balkan sounds and reggaeton. Ultimately danceable, ultimately wild.
