Charming funk vibes paired with deliberately mindful lyrics and the odd smug classic rock riff blend together to create SOFTPOWER’s sound – perfect for laid-back Saturday afternoons by the lake.  „Bleib mit mir noch ein Bier lang da, hier im Park wo der Wind weht – und der Wind, der weht in dein Haar,“ goes the lyric in the debut single “Vietnam” (2025), with which the quartet from Hanover has already, as a precaution, delivered the summer hit for 2026. Four softies on a laid-back mission of love, living in the present and singing its praises with gusto – that probably features on very few bingo cards for this – to put it mildly – completely mad year. And yet there is hardly anything we could do with more in these trying times. A harmonious vibe, a tight-knit group of passionate musicians, a jumble of sophisticated ideas. When SOFTPOWER come to Hamburg in September, they’ll fortunately still have plenty of such song material with them. So: have a cup of tea and look forward to it.
