Woomb
This pair's sources of inspiration are diverse and unmistakable in equal measure - and yet singer-songwriter Hristo Yordanov and composer/producer Gueorgui Linev are already in a league of their own. Their love of the enchanting sounds of Björk and the Cocteau Twins brought the two together at a house party, and the musical fusion that emerged is anything but outlandish. Combining indie folk with modern trip-hop sounds, plus subtly cinematic instrumentation, velvety vocals and a singular focus on tingling melodies, the result is their debut EP: the dreamlike ‘To Never Fear The Sun’ (2024), which saw them leap onto the British music scene out of nowhere last year. At times recalling the highly emotional music of Lamb, Woomb sound like the soundtrack to a successful coming-of-age film or to their own genuine, lived search for connection and friendship. This could turn into something momentous. Don't forget your tissues for their concert here in September.
