Anchor Award Show

The Anchor – Reeperbahn Festival International Music Award was created in 2016 to recognise the most promising up-and-coming musicians. Six international nominees across various genres, chosen by a board of key representatives from the international music industry, compete to win over audiences as well as the high-profile jury.

On Wednesday and Thursday of the Festival, three nominees will perform at the Mojo Club and compete for the Anchor, which will then be presented on Friday at the glittering Anchor Award Show. While other music awards centre on record sales or popularity, the Anchor instead acknowledges the unique musical quality embodied in live performances. In an era where algorithms are predicting and dictating musical tastes, the Anchor champions the concept of expert recommendation. For music fans, it’s a pointer to the essential must-hears of the current international music scene.

The six nominees, BIG WETT, Dov'è Liana, GANNA, Just For Fun, Nectar Woode and Sonic Interventions, will perform at the Award Show on the Festival Friday. The jury, made up of Domiziana, Jerry Heil, Oklou and Sega Bodega, will then reveal the Anchor 2026 winner.
