Arte Tracks Plattenkiste
Counterculture, pop, society. Tracks – the oldest and also youngest format of the European cultural channel ARTE – brings the popular ‘Plattenkiste’ (‘Record Box’) program live and unplugged to the Reeperbahn stage. The principle is well known: For around 30 minutes, an artist delves into their individually curated record collection, rummages for their favourite records, and discovers songs ranging from techno to metal to trap. The guests talk about music, share personal stories, and tell anecdotes – or simply sing along. Hayiti and K.I.Z. have already done this on TV, and Alli Neumann and futurebae have done it on the Reeperbahn. Last year, Joan as Policewoman and Die Tränen reached into the legendary box at the festival.
What can’t be done on TV? The moderator engages the audience and sometimes encourages them to sing karaoke. And afterwards, you can chat with the live guest!
