Beatles Tour
‘I might have been born in Liverpool – but I grew up in Hamburg.’ – John Lennon
This describes the brilliant influence that the Hanseatic city had on the ‘Fab Four’ – Hamburg as a musical springboard. And one thing is certain: The places where the city and the band interacted are best marvelled at with your own eyes along the Elbe. The legendary Beatles Tour leads through St. Pauli and purposefully to the venues where the musicians from England grew into the band that is still legendary today. Whether Indra or Kaiserkeller, Top Ten or Star-Club – with facts, anecdotes, and a ukulele, Stefanie Hempel – inventor of the tour – entertains all Beatles fans in Hamburg on her walk. She reveals the streets and backyards where the Beatles were active back then while the hustle and bustle of today’s Reeperbahn Festival sings in the ears of the tour participants. Hempel does this so vividly and authentically that it is hard to believe how many decades ago the band was active in Hamburg. The Beatles Tour? A journey through time starting at the Reeperbahn.
The tour will start at the information desk on the Spielbudenplatz and is limited to a maximum of 30 participants. Information on how to register will follow.
