Music? Yes! Art? Absolutely! On two guided tours around the festival site, Hannah and Shanice from the “Jungen Freunden der Kunsthalle” (“Young Friends of the Kunsthalle”) will take festival-goers to art spaces in the area. Not far from the Reeperbahn, Neustadt has long since established itself as a neighbourhood brimming with exciting venues. But we don’t want to leave St. Pauli’s vibrant art scene unexplored this year, either. On Wednesday, we’ll follow the tried-and-tested route through Neustadt to four galleries and art venues that surprise us year after year with their unconventional exhibitions: Feinkunst Krüger, Gudberg Nerger, THE SPACE //, and MEGA Contemporary. Thursday is then dedicated to St Pauli: The neighbourhood thrives on its long-established and vibrant scene. Many of the non-commercial spaces – run by artists – are tucked away in the winding alleyways not far from the Reeperbahn. Together, we’ll discover the art venues hinterconti, Galerie Gemüse, the Affenfaust Galerie, and the Raum für Illustration.
The tour will start at the information desk at the Festival Village and is limited to a maximum of 40 participants. You will find a registration list at the starting-point of the tour, where you can secure one of the spaces from festival Wednesday on. A limited amount of these spaces will be reserved for people who decide to come along spontaneously, so don’t worry if the list is already full. Those spaces will be distributed first come first serve just before the start of the tour.
