MoreCore Music Awards

On 16 September the MoreCore Music Awards will be handed out for the first time at Uebel & Gefährlich in Hamburg. They are the European award for the young heavy music scene, hosted by MoreCore as the opening night of HEAVY Reeperbahn at Reeperbahn Festival. The focus is on a new generation of heavy music and on the bands, artists and the people behind the scenes who are shaping this scene today and in the years to come.

There are nine categories plus one honorary award. The nominees were curated by a panel from press and industry, and the winners will then be decided by a public vote.

The night is more concert than gala. Between the awards, three acts play live: British alternative rock legends Nothing But Thieves, Brazilian artist Karen Dió as one of the most exciting new voices in alternative rock and punk, and modern metalcore band Avralize from Germany, whose fusion of pop, funk, metal and deathcore makes them one of the bands of the moment.

The awards will be presented by people who shape this scene, and a lot of guests and winners will be around to celebrate the future of heavy music.
