A tribute to disappearing nightlife spaces: The clubs at Sternbrücke and Molotow are current, prominent examples of the challenges faced by urban music clubs in their fight for space – and not only in Hamburg. They shape city life, they are places for encounters and (sub)culture, and at the same time, they are also permanently threatened with displacement.

The Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte (Museum of Hamburg History) wants to preserve memories: Legendary club rooms were documented with digital 3D scans shortly before their disappearance and were preserved for the future. You can now experience these digital memory rooms for yourself for the first time. Take a virtual tour of Astra-Stube, Fundbureau, Waagenbau, and the old Molotow on Nobistor on interactive touchscreens.

By the way: The museum is currently being modernised, and the scans will be on permanent display in the future exhibition. If you would like to contribute your memories, photos, or objects relating to Hamburg’s club culture to the museum’s collection, please contact the Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte.
