SMASH COMEDY
A comedy show without toxic masculinity, misogyny, racism, ableism, queerphobia, or transphobia – a safe space for comedians and audiences alike. Hamburg’s queer-feminist stand-up comedy club SMASH celebrates FLINTA*, BIPOC, and queer comedians from the German stand-up scene. For over two years, professionals and newcomers have been passing the mic around and presenting their latest jokes and stories – or giving insights into their solo programmes.
And that’s how fast things can change: Smash Comedy has already become an integral part of Hamburg’s live culture scene. What makes it special? The SMASH stage belongs to those who are severely underrepresented in other shows but whose humour and perspective we desperately need! Stand-up comedy becomes a form of protest – a queer-feminist, cultural-activist act with maximum laughs at the expense of discrimination. True to the motto: We laugh so loudly that patriarchal structures slowly begin to crumble. Hosted by Schwessi, with Ayan Ali and Neo from Cologne as well as another surprise act!
