The winner takes it all: (Steuer-)Gerechtigkeit in der Musikbranche
Kein Steuerfachseminar. Im Gegenteil.
Competition on an uneven playing field in the music industry is intensifying, and the growing market power of international giants is no coincidence. After all, those who are big also wield a great deal of influence. This session focuses on the impact of lobbying and (tax) justice. We will be discussing this with, amongst others, Anne Brorhilker, Chair of Finanzwende e.V., and tax adviser Dr Harald Grams. As a former senior public prosecutor, Brorhilker played a key role in driving forward the investigations into the Cum-Ex scandal – the largest known case of tax fraud in Europe to date. She is familiar with the narratives of the powerful players and their tricks, and highlights why the fight against financial crime is not just about recouping billions for the state coffers, but also about exercising one’s own scope for action.
A session on money, power and the question of whether a level playing field even still exists in the global music industry.
