But what happens when this fast-paced lifestyle collides with caregiving responsibilities – for instance, when a relative needs care?

It’s time to shine a spotlight on an issue that too often remains invisible backstage: balancing personal caregiving with the demands of the music world. Because far too often, care work remains unseen, incompatible with major career steps, and, above all, isolating.

How do those affected cope? What structural barriers exist in an industry shaped by project-based work and precarious conditions? And what demands can we make of the music industry and policymakers to finally make caregiving both visible and manageable?
