Gesine Schönrock
Gesine Schönrock is a Cologne-based digital distribution strategist with over 20 years of experience in the electronic music industry. At Kompakt, one of Germany's leading independent labels, distributors and record shops, she heads Digital Distribution, working closely with artists and labels to shape promo strategies, secure digital editorial placements, and manage the release of assets across all major digital shops and streaming platforms. She works directly with curators and artists to define how each release is presented, bridging the gap between artistic vision and platform strategy.
Gesine has been part of Kompakt since 2000, helping build several of its departments from the ground up before taking over Digital Distribution. Alongside her work at Kompakt, she has co-run the label PNN since 2012 with her husband Jens-Uwe Beyer (Popnoname), and has organised club nights and events across Cologne and beyond, including as co-organiser of Halle Deutz Air and the Fritz Schramma Halle (2005–2011). She regularly shares her expertise through workshops on label management and music business topics, and since 2021 has served on the advisory board for Popkultur Köln (Cologne's pop culture council).
